Spain Slashes Interrail Ticket Prices in Half for Under-30s, Boosting Summer Travel Opportunities
Being a young traveller, you can have the best summer treat in Spain this summer. The young travellers in summer can now take interrail passes with half tickets. In order to encourage summer travel amongst young people, the Spanish Government has taken this initiative.
The main aim is to recover the culture via tourism after the pandemic. This initiative complements the already affordable national trains and buses. As a result, young Spaniards will have the opportunity to explore the hidden gems of their own country.
The discounted passes for travel are only available for Spanish residents aged between 18 to 30. Through these passes, the Spanish people are able to travel thousands of kilometres around Europe. Even this rail network spreads to iconic destinations like the fjords of Norway and the beaches of Italy.
The discounted interrail tickets in Spanish are available from 15th June to 15th September. Not only this but there are also several other travel incentives like discounts on domestic trains and a staggering 90% reduction on state-run bus ticket prices.
In order to avail of these discounts, the travellers must book the tickets through state rail operator Renfe.
The travellers can explore European countries with a starting cost of €194 for four days of travel within one month across 33 countries.
Not only Spain, but other European countries have also taken such initiatives. Germany also is offering domestic travel for €49 per month. Unlimited nationwide transport is also offered in many countries like Hungary. Hungary is offering a transport ticket of €49 with an impressive 90% discount for students.
Through these approaches, governments of different countries are trying to emphasise the importance of exploring Europe and the beauty of nature. This will also encourage international travel.
