Manor House at Fancourt gets a Facelift

In time for the upcoming South African summer season, the iconic golf resort Fancourt in George has unveiled luxuriously refashioned guest rooms and public areas at The Manor House, an 18-suite luxury boutique hotel located on the 613-hectare estate.

Combining 19th century charm with world class golf, spa and leisure facilities, the Manor House is the ultimate luxury country retreat on the foothills of the majestic Outeniqua Mountains on the famous Garden Route.

The refurbishment covered the bedrooms and suites, the fine dining restaurant Henry Whites and the Guest Lounge and Study. In the English-style garden, which has a pond and centuries-old oak trees, an unused garden pavilion was transformed into a romantic private seating and dining space.

The interiors by Jo Pieters Design Studio from Knysna showcase timeless styles and unique designs with a strong artistic identity whilst balancing with the estate’s rich past. Classic contemporary elements blend with exquisite pieces of furniture, vibrant flashes of colour and wallpapers on feature walls. A collection of historic black and white photographs of Henry White and eclectic art pieces add special interest.

No two rooms are the same and the guest suites exude all the trimmings expected of a five-star property: his and hers vanities, rain showers and Victorian baths, eco-friendly amenities, Nespresso coffee machines, multi-media entertainment systems, super king-sized beds and private terraces with garden views.
