The direct service is scheduled to operate on a weekly basis until April 27, using Airbus A321 aircraft.
Flights are due to increase to twice weekly from November for the winter 2018 – 2019 season.
Henry Sunley, commercial director, Thomas Cook Airlines, outlined, “We are thrilled to add flights from East Midlands Airport to Hurghada this winter season. Across the UK we have increased our seat capacity by 14 percent to Egypt this year, flying to both Hurghada and Marsa Alam.”
Heidi Barlow, head of marketing, East Midlands Airport, added, “It’s great news that we can offer passengers the opportunity to return to Egypt, where winter sunshine and warmth is guaranteed.”
