Jardines del Rey Airport to Increase Operations

Starting in July, Jardines del Rey International Airport, Cuba, will increase its operations with a flight from Portugal, which returns every summer, and a second flight from Russia.

Lessner Gómez Molina, sub-delegate, ministry, tourism, Cuba, reported that in the summer season, during which fewer foreign travellers arrive, the peak of weekly flights had reached 32 at the airport.

Canada remains the main market with 70 percent of airport users coming from that country, while UK also has a good position in the destination even though Argentina has shown a downward trend in its visitors.

More than 5,000 foreign tourists are currently in the northern Ciego de Avila keys area, an occupation similar to that of the same period in 2017.

During these months, the national market ranks second in significance.
