American Airlines to Inject LAX with Capital

American Airlines has confirmed its intention to continue investing at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), with estimated USD1.6 billion to be distributed over the next 15 years.

Among other prospective projects, the carrier’s financial support will target enhancement of the gateway’s terminals and is also expected to pave the way to receive extra gates as the airline expands its operations and network.

“This investment will not only improve the customer experience, but it will also give our employees a better place to work every day while allowing us to continue to grow […]. Today, US airlines are healthy and investing back into their businesses and communities they serve. What we are doing here today is a great example of that,” said Doug Parker, CEO, American Airlines.
