Paris Becomes Preferred Destination for Americans

Following a substantial decrease in US travellers planning to spend their holidays in Paris in 2016, the city projects a 16.3 percent increase in US visitors for this year, according to part two of Allianz Global Assistance’s Top 10 Holiday Destination Report.

Despite this increase, parts of the UK, including London and Manchester, will experience a decrease from 2016 levels.

The report reviewed more than 760 thousand Americans’ travel plans during the peak holiday travel season, and found that while Paris saw a significant decrease in US travellers during 2016’s holiday season, down 12.8 percent from 2015, the city has risen for this year and remains as the second most popular European destination.
