United Airlines Reveal Q1 Performance Results

United Airlines (UAL) released its first-quarter (Q1) financial results for this year, revealing a net income of USD147 million, diluted earnings per share of USD0.52, pre-tax earnings of USD184 million and pre-tax margin of two percent.

Moreover, UAL introduced and began training its team on its new customer service decision framework, the core4, which focusses on the principles of being safe, caring, dependable and efficient.

The company also announced that United Premium Plus will provide more space, comfort and amenities on select international flights starting later this year.

At the same time, it launched two new international routes from Houston to Sydney and Denver to London, while it also announced new services between six domestic hubs and eight destinations in California, Ohio, North Dakota, South Dakota, Virginia and Wisconsin.

Additionally, the airline ranked number one among global carriers within Newsweek's 2017 Global 500 Green Rankings.

"The exceptional operational performance UAL’s employees delivered over the past quarter is impressive. Even more so when we consider UAL achieved the best departure performance among our largest competitors despite four nor'easters and other weather disruptions," noted Oscar Munoz, CEO, UAL.
