STR Reveals Q2 Central/South America Hotel Performance

During the second quarter (Q2) of this year, hotels in Central/South America reported occupancy rose 2.4 percent year over year to 55.3 percent, ADR increased 23.6 percent to USD117.24 and RevPAR rose 26.6 percent to USD64.80, according to STR.

The global data benchmarking, analytics and marketplace insights provider said that, for Brazil specifically, occupancy grew by 5.1 percent to 53.1 percent, ADR grew by 5.3 percent to BRL279.36 (USD74.41) and RevPAR grew 10.7 percent to BRL148.47 (USD39.55).

STR said performance recovery continues in Brazil with more stabilised supply and consistent demand.

The country’s 53.1 percent absolute occupancy level was the highest for a Q2 in the country since 2015. In June specifically, Brazil’s RevPAR grew nine percent after a six-month streak of double-digit growth in the metric.
