International Arrivals Facility Begins Operations at San Diego Airport

San Diego International Airport is said to be among one of the first airports in the US to employ a fully biometric entry process, streamlining the entry into the Southern Californian state.

This allows the airport to accommodate the increase in international passengers resulting from recently added overseas flights. The new facility aims to improve the processing experience for UK passengers in particular by automatically validating entry upon return visit to the US and allowing them to proceed directly to baggage claim.

San Diego Airport now also features 10 new gates to reduce terminal congestion, more security lanes and expanded concession area providing more dining and shopping options and the opening of the brand-new Terminal 2 Parking Plaza which created 2,700 more parking spaces.
