Visitation Climbs at Arizona State Parks

According to Arizona State Parks visitation data, 2017 proved to be a noteworthy year, with 10 parks particularly recording impressive results.

Buckskin, Catalina, Fool Hollow, Homolovi, Lake Havasu, Lost Dutchman, Oracle, Patagonia Lake, Red Rock and Slide Rock, recorded the highest visitation data. Total park visitation for 2017 was three million visitors year-to-date, reflecting a 10.3 percent change from the two million visitors in 2016.

For December 2017, recorded visitors were 176,182, a 20.1 percent increase on the 146,713 visitors recorded during the same month a year earlier. Arizona State Parks is the governing agency which includes all the state’s parks. Its system includes both state parks and state historic parks, as well as natural and recreational areas.
