TravelNevada Awards USD1 Million for Tourism Promotion

The Nevada Commission on Tourism (NCOT) approved USD1,006,203 in grant funding to rural communities to promote tourism through marketing projects.

Tourism is crucial to Nevada since it is the state’s largest export industry. About 27,870 rural Nevada jobs are attributed to tourism while the overall travel spending in rural Nevada is USD2.3 billion. Among the projects funded through the Rural Marketing Grants was a USD10,000 grant to Laughlin Tourism Commission to promote the Laughlin Laugh Fest comedy festival.

A USD15,000 award was given to Pony Express Territory, the organisation representing communities along the US 50 corridor, to provide new creative for its ongoing advertising campaign. Meanwhile, a USD20,000 grant was allotted to Carson Valley Visitors Authority to support a multi-media campaign in Northern California.
