American Cruise Lines announced that it launched American Jazz at Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Salisbury, MD, on October 13, five weeks ahead of schedule.
American Jazz is the third modern riverboat in the US and the third ship in American Cruise Line’s acclaimed series of five modern riverboats all designed and built by Chesapeake Shipbuilding.
American Melody, the fourth modern riverboat in the series of five, is also under construction at Chesapeake Shipbuilding, and will feature a number of design changes from the first three ships in the series.
Once complete, American Jazz will have six decks, accommodate 194 guests in 100 staterooms, and highlight the same elegant contemporary design as the first and second modern series ships (American Song and American Harmony).
American Jazz will showcase a multi-story glass atrium at the centre of the ship, as well as the distinctive opening bow and retractable gangway synonymous with all American’s modern riverboats. Chesapeake Shipbuilding has a long history of designing and building innovative new ships for American Cruise Lines.
Designed with sweeping expanses of glass throughout, American Jazz will offer unparalleled panoramic views as well as huge all-balcony staterooms and suites.
American Jazz is set to begin cruising the Mississippi River for American Cruise Lines in the third quarter of 2020.
