Holland America has become Carnival Corporation's third cruise line to sail to Cuba, with the voyage from Florida's Fort Lauderdale set to begin on December 22 with a 12-day holiday itinerary aboard ms Veendam.

Following the company's historic inaugural sailings to the island in 2016, the addition of the new link will help to meet growing demand for premium cruise experiences to the destination.

Cruisers onboard the 1,350-guest vessel will be able to enjoy the liner's Exploration Central educational programme, featuring presentations and talks to deepen understanding of the history and culture of Cuba before visiting the ports, and joining bespoke tours of Havana, Cienfuegos and Trinidad.
