Bangkok Airways Add to ATR 72-600 Fleet

Bangkok Airways has signed a contract for the purchase of four additional ATR 72-600 aircraft.

The signing ceremony took place at Singapore Airshow, with Anawat Leelawatwatana, senior vice president, finance and accounting, Bangkok Airways, and Christian Scherer, CEO, ATR, inking the contracts.

The deal is valued at over USD100 million and is anticipated to enable the airline to continue its regional fleet modernisation and harmonisation process around the ATR 72-600.

Delivery of these four additional aircraft is scheduled to take place between October and March 2019.

Bangkok Airways currently operates a fleet of 15 ATR aircrafts; namely six ATR 72-500s and nine ATR 72-600s. The four additional aircraft will be utilised to support Bangkok Airways’ future route extension plans across its domestic and regional network.
