Qatar Airways Adds Canberra to Australia Network

Qatar Airways’ first flight from Doha to Canberra touched down at Canberra Airport on February 12, where it was welcomed with a celebratory water cannon salute.

Qatar Airways operates the daily service to the Australian capital with a Boeing B777 aircraft, featuring 42 business class flatbed seats and 316 economy class seats.

On the launch day, H.E. Akbar Al Baker, group CEO, Qatar Airways, attended an official meeting with Steven Ciobo, minister, trade, tourism and investment, Australia, at Parliament House. During the meeting, the new flight between Doha and Canberra, as well as the airline’s ongoing commitment to growth in Australia, was discussed. Canberra is Qatar Airways’ fifth gateway into the country, following Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth.
