Codeshare Partnership for Cathay Pacific and Air Astana

Hong Kong flagship Cathay Pacific and Kazakhstan’s national carrier Air Astana have begun codesharing on a number of their services.

The codeshare agreement aims to enhance travel options for Cathay Pacific customers travelling to and from Kazakhstan and for Air Astana customers travelling to and from Asian and Australian destinations via the airlines’ Hong Kong and Almaty hubs.

Since March 15, Cathay Pacific has placed its CX code on Air Astana’s non-stop flights between Hong Kong and Almaty as well as on connecting services between Almaty and Astana, the Kazakh capital.

Cathay Pacific also codeshares on Air Astana services between Bangkok, Thailand and Almaty, and services between Seoul, South Korea and Almaty. Air Astana has also placed its KC code on selected Cathay Pacific services operating between Hong Kong and Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, Australia and Singapore.

“We are delighted to join with Air Astana and provide our customers with links to one of the most fascinating countries in Central Asia,” noted Ronald Lam, director, commercial and cargo, Cathay Pacific.

“Cathay Pacific is our ideal partner as we look to extend our reach across Asia and Australia via Hong Kong,” added Richard Ledger, vice president, marketing and sales, Air Astana, commented.
