Hong Kong Hotels See Successful May

As revealed by STR’s preliminary data, hoteliers in Hong Kong recorded strong performance in May driven by a 4.8 percent year-on-year boost in demand thanks to a number of international conferences and events including Hofex, among others.


During the month under review, properties in the city saw occupancy rise 2.9 percent to 83.4 percent, along with a 0.9 percent increase in average daily rate to HKD1,234.66 (USD158.33) compared to May 2016.

Overall, RevPAR surged 3.8 percent to HKD1,029.24 (USD131.98) despite a 1.9 percent jump in supply.
