Australia’s Latest International Visitor Arrivals

Australia welcomed nine million visitor arrivals for the year ending May.

This reflects an increase of 6.2 percent relative to 2017. Specifically, there were 609,300 visitor arrivals during the month of May, up 5.2 percent relative to the same period in 2017. Overall, the country witnessed a steady growth in terms of tourism, emphasising a healthy economic growth.

Australia is known for its Sydney Opera House and the Great Barrier Reef among many other attractions. Travellers also seem to enjoy exploring the country’s wealth of nature which includes kangaroos and duck-billed platypuses, as well as the country’s array of available dining options and thrill-seeking activities such as surfing.
