Estimated visitor expenditure also rose significantly, up 14.44 percent to THB1.18 trillion (USD0.03599 trillion).
The top five markets were China with 6,860,924 visitors (up 21.44 percent), Malaysia with 6,860,924 (up 6.8 percent), Korea with 1,035,057 (up 5.82 percent), Lao PDR with 991,679 visitors (up 9.31 percent) and India with 919,130 (up 13.24 percent).
Yuthasak Supasorn, governor, Tourism Authority of Thailand, commented, “This strong growth is very encouraging in terms of numbers, but even are more important are some of the emerging new trends; such as, the 23.3 percent increase in visitor arrivals by sea (July).”
