The report also predicted that the number of domestic visitors in the seven-day holiday period would reach 385 million people, up 12 percent from 2017.
Domestic tourism revenue is expected to reach USD3 billion, a 12.5 percent increase year-on-year. In addition to visiting relatives and friends, island tours, cruises and family tours remain top travel themes.
According to the travel services provider’s data, more Chinese are choosing DIY options as opposed to traditional sightseeing tours, with 48 percent choosing DIY products. Meanwhile, the number of families expressing interest in customised tours and private tours is also on the rise.
