In February, a corresponding agreement was signed by Eduardo Santander, executive director, European Travel Commission, and David Axiotis, general manager, ITB China. ECTY is designed to help EU and Chinese tourism businesses, authorities and all other stakeholders enjoy successful commercial and cultural exchanges between the EU and China. By teaming up, ITB China and the ECTY optimally set the scene to further strengthen and expand their relationship within China.
In 2017, the first ITB China marked its successful premiere and proved its importance as China’s new marketplace for the travel trade industry. At this year’s edition, the demand for exhibition space is again very high as Europe becomes a central attraction.
