The match will be Chelsea FC’s only appearance in Australia that summer, with tickets to the blockbuster friendly expected to sell out quickly. It is ‘The Blues’ first visit to Perth since 1974.
The team’s visit to Perth is expected to be a windfall for tourism, with thousands of interstate and international visitors expected to travel for the match, injecting millions of dollars into the economy through visitor spend.
At the same time, Perth will get a chance to be seen across millions around the world.
The deal, struck by Tourism Western Australia in partnership with Optus Stadium operator VenuesLive, includes other activity by Chelsea FC in Perth in the days prior to the match.
