As part of the 2018 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships, known as The Aussies, surf lifesavers from Australia’s more than 300 surf clubs, are to come together at Scarborough Beach this April to compete across more than 400 beach and ocean events.

The Aussies, organised by Surf Life Saving Australia, is the national surf lifesaving championships of Australia. More than 5,000 competitors are anticipated to travel to Western Australia for the 2018 championships held from April 14 – 22.

In addition to competitors, thousands more are expected to attend as spectators and support crew. The Aussies are supported by the State Government through Tourism Western Australia (WA). Supporting mass participation events such as The Aussies is part of Tourism WA's plan to grow the number of visitors to the State over the next two years.
