AIDA Cruises Reconstructs Philippines School

AIDA Cruises is continuing its ongoing commitment to social, cultural and charitable projects with the reconstruction of a Philippines-based elementary school.

On March 09, at recently held ITB Berlin travel trade show, Hansjörg Kunze, vice president, communication and sustainability, AIDA Cruises, presented a check of USD52,113 to Reiner Meutsch Foundation FLY & HELP for the reconstruction of an elementary school located on the Dinagat Islands, Philippines.

The donation is part of the money raised from a charity raffle that AIDA traditionally holds aboard its fleet on New Year's Eve, after severe floods recently destroyed many schools across the region.

"Many of our employees aboard the AIDA fleet come from the Philippines, so working with the Reiner Meutsch Foundation to provide direct help on the ground and give children the chance to attend school, is a matter very close to our heart,” noted Kunze.
