Radisson RED to Open in Reykjavik Iceland

Rezidor Hotel Group AB (REZT), publicly listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, Sweden and part of Radisson Hotel Group, announced the signing of the first ever Radisson RED in the Nordics, scheduled to open in Iceland's capital, Reykjavik, by 2020.

Radisson RED is Radisson Hotel Group's upscale, select service hotel brand. Reykjavik is popular for both leisure guests and business travellers due to the nature experience options and convenient travel connections to cities like New York and London.

Commenting on the new hotel location, Elie Younes, executive vice president, Radisson Hotel Group, expanded, "The number of tourists in Iceland is estimated to increase and tourism will remain one of the main drivers of the country's GDP.”

The 195-room Radisson RED Reykjavik, set to open in the second quarter of 2020, will be a newly built property that aims to provide travellers with an ideal base from which to explore the city and beyond. Located in the city centre, with easy pedestrian access to the main retail street, leisure areas and financial district, the 17-storey hotel will be an ocean front property offering guests panoramic views of the ocean, city and the surrounding mountain ridge.
