The new bridge will offer passengers even greater comfort and allow them to board and disembark from larger aircraft much faster.
Additionally, Brussels Airport completed the first stage of a long-term investment plan of EUR52 million for its boarding bridges at Pier B.
Gates 31 and 33 were equipped with a triple boarding bridge which will be used as a double bridge for wide-bodies, including Airbus A330 and A350 and Boeing B777 and B787.
The bridge can also be used for the world’s largest passenger aircraft, Airbus A380.
“The inauguration of this boarding bridge is an important step in the modernisation of Pier B, which accommodates intercontinental flights,” explained Arnaud Feist, CEO, Brussels Airport Company. “This triple bridge not only allows us to receive the largest aircraft in the world, the Airbus A380, it will also be used for long-haul flights, allowing passengers on wide-bodies to board or disembark much faster.”
