Passenger Traffic Growth for Aegean Airlines

Aegean Airlines revealed a 12 percent surge in consolidated revenue in the first half the year, with EUR450.7 million, while total passenger traffic rose six percent year-on-year to 5.6 million travellers.

During the second quarter, the number of passengers carried rose seven percent, strengthened by a 17 percent boost on international routes.

Looking ahead, Dimitris Gerogiannis, managing director, Aegean Airlines, said, “Given the traffic performance of July and August, we are highly confident for the performance of the third quarter of the year which substantially determines our full year results. Seasonality continues to be a key challenge with a weak first and last quarter of the year, especially as long as Greek customer demand remains low.”
