Minsk Hosts OSTIS 2018 on Artificial Intelligence

The eighth international science conference Open Semantic Technologies for Intelligent Systems (OSTIS 2018) kicked off at Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics on February 15.

On February 16, the conference included a roundtable discussion on problems and development concerning applied research within the artificial intelligence field. The annual conference aims to push for more cooperation between science schools, universities, and organisations working on artificial intelligence and business projects.

This year, the conference brought over 120 scientists from six countries to Minsk, namely Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. Commenting on what is to come, Sergei Dik, first prorector, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, noted, “The digital economy development ordinance [...] is a good impetus to new ideas that can be put into practice at OSTIS 2019.”
