Deputy Ministry of Tourism Successfully Completes WTM in London

Savvas Perdios, deputy minister of tourism, Cyprus with his team successfully completed the World Travel Market (WTM) exhibition which took place November 04 - 06 November in London.

Meetings with major tour operators and UK airlines were essential and took place in a constructive way, with the main aim of addressing the many challenges that exist in this market, such as the issue of the UK leaving the European Union.

The central message given by the UK authorities to the Cypriot team is that in 2020, with the well-known challenges facing the UK will be a difficult year for British outbound tourism, for many destinations and not just for Cyprus. However, they expressed optimism, based on Cyprus' distinct position on British preferences.

For his part Perdios gave assurances that the Cyprus Government, the Ministry of Tourism and the tourist agencies of Cyprus have been working in a coordinated and intensive manner on developments in the British market.

He underlined that the Ministry of Tourism was, is and will be on the side of its partners in the UK, to continuously strengthen cooperation, address any problems and broaden the prospects of this market, stressing its importance and importance for tourist Cyprus.
