Austrian Airlines Maintains Growth

Austrian Airlines increased its passenger volume in May with 1.2 million travellers, corresponding to 15.1 percent year-on-year rise, while passenger load factor increased 0.3 percentage points to 74.1 percent.

The month under review also saw available seat kilometres rise 9.1 percent to more than 2.4 billion, while revenue passenger kilometres increased 9.5 percent to 1.8 billion.

The company attributed the positive figures to the new airberlin aircraft deployed in March and the associated expansion of European services, along with boosted bilateral flight traffic between Austria and Germany.

Overall, during the period January – May, over 4.5 million passengers travelled on board the airline’s flights, a 12.6 percent climb over the same period in 2016.
