European Cities Marketing (ECM) and MKG Group’s latest report, ECM-MKG European Destinations Observatory, revealed that in the first quarter (Q1) of the year, RevPAR across European cities soared 7.7 percent compared to Q1 2016.


Furthermore, occupancy jumped 3.1 points and average daily rate increased 2.5 percent, with growth observed in all countries surveyed.


In the UK, RevPAR rose 10 percent, while London, Liverpool and Edinburgh secured spots in the top five best occupancy rates across the continent.


Meanwhile, Germany, Spain and Portugal all saw growth in RevPAR, up 8.3 percent, 8.3 percent and 15.6 percent, respectively. After challenging periods for France and Italy, they both a 5.1 percent climb in RevPAR in Q1.
