NATO Summit Fuelled Growth in Brussels

According to Hotstats’ European Chain Hotels Market Review May 2017, hoteliers in Brussels recorded a 116.8 percent increase in profit per room compared to May 2016, thanks to the North Atlantic Treat Organization (NATO) Summit.

During the month under review, occupancy rose 18.7 percentage points to reach 75.1 percent, while a three percent year-on-year jump in achieved average room rate to EUR144.28 helped fuel a 37.2 percent surge in RevPAR, which reached EUR108.37.

Moreover, non-rooms revenue also climbed, including food and beverage along with conference and banqueting, up 23.2 percent and 26.4 percent, respectively.

Overall, this drove a 28.9 percent surge in total RevPAR to EUR148.77.
