Brussels Airlines Starts Year with Growth

Brussels Airlines kicked off the New Year reporting growth with 590,329 passengers, 76,895 more than January 2017, arriving aboard the 5,413 flights that were operated during the same month this year.

Europe and Africa routes recorded significant growth rate increases, with 14.4 percent and 12.4 percent, respectively. Overall, the 15 percent passenger growth also led to a 5.6 percent seat load factor increase, leading to an average 74 percent seat load factor.

Freight transported by Brussels Airlines passenger flights also grew significantly by 36 percent. Due to a more effective use of its cargo hold, load factors grew from 59.4 percent to 71.6 percent. This resulted in a Revenue Ton-Kilometers increase by 24.9 percent.
