Growth was primarily driven by international expansion; with intercontinental routes constituting the highest share with 55 percent. In total, 2,333,932 passengers chose to fly with Norwegian in January - 223,356 more passengers than the same period in 2017. Total traffic growth increased by 29 percent, and capacity growth increased by 30 percent. Load factor was 82 percent, down one percent.
Norwegian operated 98.9 percent of its scheduled flights in January, with 72.4 percent having departed on time. On-time performance was heavily influenced by the weather situation in Oslo, London and New York. “We are very pleased with the continued passenger growth in January, a month traditionally characterized by less demand,” commented Bjørn Kjos, CEO, Norwegian.
