Cyprus Latest Figures: Revenue from Tourism for May

On the basis of the results of the Cyprus Passenger Survey, revenue from tourism reached EUR277,6 million in May compared to EUR294,7 million in the corresponding month of 2018, recording a decrease of 5,8 percent.

For the period of January – May revenue from tourism is estimated at EUR652,8 million compared to EUr677,2 million in the corresponding period of 2018, recording a decrease of 3,6 percent.

The expenditure per person for May reached EUR638,78 compared to EUR654,14 in the corresponding month of 2018, recording a decrease of 2,3 percent.

The expenditure per person/per day for May compared to May 2018 remained the same (from EUR76,06 to EUR76,05). A decrease of 2,3 percent was recorded in the average length of stay, from 8,6 days in May 2018 to 8,4 days in May of this year.

The expenditure per person for the period of January – May reached EUR582,15 compared to EUR597,12 in the corresponding period of 2018, recording a decrease of 2,5 percent.

The expenditure per person/per day for the period of January – May compared to the period of January – May 2018 remained at the same level (from EUR70,25 to EUR70,14).
