British Airways Transforms Boarding Experience

British Airways has said to become the first airline to trial self-service biometric boarding gates on international flights out of the US, working in partnership with Los Angeles International Airport.

Investing in innovation and new technology, British Airways has begun an exclusive trial to improve the boarding process and reduce the amount of time it takes to board.
The new technology, created by Vision-Box, is said to create a smoother journey for customers, as they will no longer need to present their passport or boarding pass at the gate; only at check in and security. Instead travellers can simply look into a camera prior to boarding, wait for their biometric data to be verified, and then walk onto the aircraft.

The gates have been installed on three stands at Los Angeles International Airport and British Airways.
