Zurab Pololikashvili

Zurab Pololikashvili has assumed the position of secretary general World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), for the period 2018 — 2021.

Bringing with him a wealth of expertise in politics, ministries and related public service, Pololikashvili is the current ambassador of Georgia to Spain, Morocco, Algeria, and Andorra.

Prior to this, he held the role of minister of economic development of Georgia and he served as the deputy minister of foreign affairs of Georgia.

Pololikashvili was elected by consensus at the 22nd UNWTO General Assembly, held in Chengdu, China.

In his new role, he will be responsible for implementing UNWTO's programme of work and serving the needs of members and affiliate members.
