Swiss-Belhotel International Reveals Africa Expansion

Swiss-Belhotel International chalked out an aggressive expansion strategy for Africa.

Laurent Voivenel, senior vice president, operations and development, Middle East, Africa and India, Swiss-Belhotel International, revealed, “Our goal is to have five hotels in Africa by 2021. We recently signed a management agreement with Zanzibar Crown Hotel and Resort Limited to operate the beautiful Swiss-Belresort Zanzibar that is expected to open for business in 2019.”

Swiss-Belhotel International is also in negotiations for projects in various other parts of the continent.

Voivenel also noted Africa’s huge potential for the hospitality industry, the increase in intra-Africa travel and growth in visitors from China and India. He mentioned a shift from business to leisure travellers and better connectivity, low-cost airline access and wider visa-free entry as other growth factors.
