Kruger National Park (KNP) Emerging Tuskers Committee has identified 12 new emerging tuskers, following the submission of elephant footage from guests of the Tuskers Project.

The committee has been monitoring several elephants since 2009 with a recent focus on 28 in particular, which enabled them to conclude that 12 are showing sufficient development to named as big tuskers.

"The main objective with the naming of the magnificent bulls is to monitor the movements of these animals with Kruger being amongst one of the last places in which they can be seen in Southern Africa," explained Kirsty Redman, committee coordinator, KNP.
