McAfee: US Vacationers Remain Online

The latest McAfee study, Digital Detox: Unwind, Relax and Unplug, revealed that despite the known benefits of unplugging electronic devices while on holiday, most individuals prefer to stay connected.

The findings confirmed that 52 percent of US respondents spend at least an hour a day going online while on vacation and 57 percent of holidaymakers went on a trip with the intent to stay connected.

This comes with a cyber security threat as vacationers opt for easily accessible and unsecured Wi-Fi, putting their privacy at risk.

Gary Davis, chief consumer security evangelist, McAfee, stressed, “[…] By taking basic security precautions and avoiding unnecessary risks, consumers can better protect personal information making their vacation more enjoyable knowing they are connecting with confidence.”
