Cyprus Tourist Arrivals for February Look Positive

The arrivals of tourists to Cyprus reached 71,921 in February of this year compared to 5,047 in February 2021, and to 105,592 tourist arrivals in February 2020.

For the period of January – February of this year, arrivals of tourists totalled 115,865 compared to 8,936 in the corresponding period of 2021, and to 191,214 during the period of January – February 2020.

Arrivals from the UK were the main source of tourism for February, with a share of 25,9 percent (18,618) of total arrivals, followed by Greece with 12,2 percent (8,771), Russia with eight percent (5,732), Ukraine with 7,9 percent (5,711), Israel with 7,8 percent (5,639) and Poland with 6,4 percent (4,612).

For a percentage of 64 percent of tourists, the purpose of their trip in February of this year was holidays, for 21,5 percent were visit to friends and relatives and for 14,5 percent for business. Respectively, in February 2021, 11,6 percent of tourists visited Cyprus for holidays, 35,2 percent visited friends or relatives and 53,2 percent visited Cyprus for business reasons.
