Genève Aéroport has announced the launch of a new longhaul connection to Addis Ababa, hailed as the first regular sub-Saharan Africa destination from Geneva.

Boeing and Ethiopian Airlines have announced an order for four Boeing 777 freighters, the world’s largest and longest-range twin-engine cargo jet, in a deal valued at more than USD1.3 billion.

Ethiopian airlines' newest Boeing 787 touched down in Addis Ababa following a non-stop 13,444 km delivery flight from Boeing's Everett, Washington facility.

The airline also conducted its 32nd Humanitarian Delivery Flight as part what is hailed to be the first carrier in Africa to operate the Boeing 787-9.

Travelport has announced a new multi-year full content agreement with Ethiopian Airlines. Under the agreement, Travelport's technology will support the carrier’s market and retail its offerings in a more visual and effective way to over 68,000 travel agents in over 180 countries worldwide.

On August 18, Ethiopian Airlines’ service from Addis Ababa Bole International Airport to Bahrain International Airport was resumed following the hiatus of the itinerary since 2011.

Ethiopian Airlines has placed an order for 10 additional Airbus A350-900 aircraft, building on its status as the first African carrier to operate the type and enabling further development of its expanding long-haul route network.

Ethiopian Airlines is revising its air traffic schedule to Scandinavia and will begin flying non-stop from Addis Ababa to Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
