Saudi Arabia Golf Tournament to Feature International Champs

Saudi Arabia Golf Federation (SGF) recently confirmed the new European Tour event scheduled to take place in the Kingdom in 2019 will feature Dustin Johnson, the world’s top ranked golfer, and Patrick Reed, 2018 Masters Champion.

Aiming to establish the happening as a leading European Tour and global tournament, SGF also confirmed the participation of Paul Casey, world number 15, and Thomas Bjorn, captain, 2018 Ryder Cup.

H.E. Yasir Al-Rumayyan, chairman, SGF, elaborated, “The tournament will provide an important platform for us to showcase Saudi Arabia’s many assets to the world, from our golf courses and facilities, to our rich cultural heritage, to our business credentials and our ever developing lifestyle and entertainment offerings.”

The inaugural event is scheduled for January 31 – February 03, 2019, with further details on the event name, prize fund, partners and other details to be announced over the coming weeks.

The tournament will take place within King Abdullah Economic City at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club.

Situated along the Red Sea coastline, the venue boasts a premier championship golf course, state of the art clubhouse, world-class practice facility, residential and recreational facilities.
