The nursery not only allows the aquarium’s experts to care for the newborns, but also offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the varying lifecycles and reproductive process for a variety of species. Specifically, visits to the aqua-nursery will also explore peak breeding seasons, gestation periods and the scientific terminologies covering various species, forming a new option of educational entertainment within the aquarium.

Furthermore, the aqua-nursery seeks to encourage interaction with the younger audience and teach them about species which are otherwise not accessible. According to Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, entry to the aqua-nursery is included with all tickets purchased.

Currently residing in the new nursery are zebra sharks, shovel nose rays, bamboo sharks and blue spotted rays, which have all been born naturally at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo.
