Corsini Collection Leaves Italy for the First Time

The only Australian showing of A Window on Italy - The Corsini Collection: Masterpieces from Florence has recently opened at the Art Gallery, Western Australia.

This is the first time the collection has toured elsewhere other than Italy, where it has been for 500 years.

The exhibition features masterworks from the Italian noble Corsinis family’s private art collection, with Renaissance and Baroque paintings by Italian artists such as Botticelli, Tinoretto and Caravaggio.

These artworks have been preserved over centuries, surviving World War II devastation and the Florence’s great flood.

Also on display are decorative items and objects from the Corsini family home, Palazzo Corsini, Florence, Italy.

The exhibition is officially open and scheduled to take place until June 18.
