May Growth at Brussels South Charleroi Airport

The month of May closed on a positive note for Brussels South Charleroi Airport with 748,876 passengers crossing the tarmac, seven percent more than in May 2017.

Occupancy rates also rose by three percent, approaching 91 percent over the course of the month.

The Mediterranean region and Central and Eastern European countries were once again the most popular destinations for people travelling from the Belgian airport. Spain still occupies the number one spot, followed by Italy, France and Morocco. Representing Central and Eastern Europe, Poland is the fifth most popular country.

Other airport developments have seen saw long-haul flights to Hong Kong officially begin on June 06, while Irish airline Ryanair will be launching a new route to Palermo, Italy on October 28.
