Recently released, the latest set of results from the Tasmanian Visitor Survey reveal steady growth in visitor numbers to Tasmania, strong growth in total visitor spending and strong growth in average spend per night.

Tourism Tasmania is holding its new trade event, TasTalk, in Hobart in late June, a two-day happening combining the previous Tasbound and Tassie Specialist Conference events to create a broader and more dynamic travel trade happening.

According to Tourism Tasmania’s annual cruise ship passenger survey, the island’s cruise sector thrived in the 2016-2017 season, with direct on-shore expenditure estimated to have reached AUD25.14 million (USD 19.81 million), up 45 percent year-on-year, well ahead of the national growth rate of 21 percent.
