The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has recently released its updated assessment of the likely impact of the COVID-19 on international tourism.
On the basis of the results of the Cyprus passengers survey, arrivals of tourists reached 434,578 in May compared to 450,495 in May 2018, recording a decrease of 3,5 percent.
International tourist arrivals grew six percent in 2018, totalling 1,4 billion according to the latest UNWTO World Tourism Barometer.
On the basis of the results of the Passengers Survey, arrivals of tourists in Cyprus reached 520,138 in September this year compared to 483,716 in September 2017, recording an increase of 7,5 percent. This September had the highest volume of tourist arrivals ever recorded in Cyprus during the specific month.
