The emirate’s sixth place ranking came from bookings via the Hotelbeds Group bedbank platform, including its Hotelbeds, Tourico Holidays and GTA brands. Orlando was ranked as the top city, followed by New York, Paris, Rome and London.
Among Middle East city destinations, Abu Dhabi and Doha rank second and third respectively, however with Dubai having quite a significant lead over both. This is reflected in the fact that Dubai accounts for 65 percent of the total room nights for the Middle East.
According to the Group’s booking data, Indian travellers are the segment which travels the most to Dubai, followed by UAE residents, Saudi Arabians and then Spanish nationals. Source markets that have registered the strongest growth compared to the previous year are Spain, China, Germany and the US.
