The February 11 signing firmed up a Memorandum of Understanding announced in January, with deliveries anticipated to start as early as 2020.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the World Government Summit by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman, Emirates Group and Mikail Houari, president, Africa Middle East, Airbus; and in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president, UAE and Edouard Philippe, prime minister, France.
This new order brings Emirates’ commitment to the A380 programme up to 178 aircraft, worth over USD60 billion.
